This collection contains various audio-visual resources that document demonstrations, conferences, lectures, facility tours, presentations, and talks by by UCAR/NCAR staff and scientists, as well as others. Retirement parties and NCAR staff events are also included.

This collection includes correspondence, memos, design specifications, and budgets related to the design and construction of the Mesa Laboratory. Materials document the site selection committee, selection of an architect, bidding process for contractors, internal discussions on design and space allocation, interior design, and the dedication ceremony. / Select materials from this collection have been digitized and are available in the NCAR Library's digital repository, OpenSky.

The Physical Facilities Services (PFS) Records document the planning, construction, and maintenance of NCAR/UCAR buildings and campuses, including the Climax Observatory, Mesa Laboratory, Fleischmann Building, Marshall Field Site, Research Aviation Facility, Foothills Campus and Center Green. The records also include information on work done by PFS on various field projects that were not located in the Boulder, Colorado area. Documents begin with the planning of the Mesa Laboratory and the Climax Observatory addition in the 1960s to the acquisition and buildout of the NCAR North facilities in the 1990s.
